Elke Schoonen
Elke Schoonen (geb. 1992) erwarb 2017 ihren Master of Science in Architektur an der TU Delft. Von 2017 bis 2022 arbeitete sie bei noAarchitecten in Brüssel. Seit 2022 ist Elke Programmbeauftragte im Rahmen des Civic Design-Programms bei Acte 51N4E. Sie bringt ihr Interesse an komplexen städtischen Transformationen ein, indem sie an Vorstudien und Masterplan-Aufträgen arbeitet. Für das Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe arbeitete sie 2022 an einem Visionsdokument für die Sanierung des Gebäudes. Seit Anfang 2025 wurde diese Vision zu einer integralen Machbarkeitsstudie weiterentwickelt. Sie arbeitete an der Ausstellungsgestaltung für „Water Pressure“, die im März 2024 eröffnet wurde. Elke hat eine Forschungsstelle am Lehrstuhl für Affektive Architekturen an der ETH Zürich inne, wo sie interdisziplinäre Praxis untersucht, mit Kunst in der Architektur als erster Fallstudie.
Elke Schoonen (°1992) obtained her diploma of MSc Architecture at the TU Delft in 2017. From 2017 to 2022 Elke worked at noAarchitecten in Brussels. In 2022 Elke joined Acte 51N4E where she works as program agent within the program of Civic Design. She activates her interest in complex urban transformation by working on preparatory studies and masterplan assignments. For the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe she worked on a vision document for the building’s refurbishment in 2022. Since the beginning of 2025, this vision is being developed to an integral feasibility study. She worked on the exhibition design for ‘Water Pressure’ that opened in March 2024. Elke holds a research position at the Chair of Affective Architectures at ETH Zurich, where she studies interdisciplinary practice, with as a first case Art in Architecture.
