Who cares? Demokratisierung durch Fürsorgepraktiken im Museum
Der Online-Workshop widmet sich der Frage, wie care als ethisch-politisches Prinzip konkret in musealen Strukturen eingebracht, gelebt und hinterfragt werden kann; besonders in Bezug auf den kollegialen Umgang. Aufbauend auf feministischen Care-Ethiken, wie von Joan C. Tronto, María Puig de la Bellacasa, Lara Perry und Elke Krasny sowie den Überlegungen von Sascia Bailer wird untersucht, wie Demokratisierungsprozesse innerhalb einer Institution, durch ein sorgendes, verbundenes Miteinander – „caring with“ – angestoßen werden können.
WHO CARES? Democratization through Care Practices in Museums
This workshop explores how care—as an ethical and political principle—can be consciously introduced, practiced, and critically examined within museum structures, with a particular focus on collegial relationships and collaboration.
Drawing on feminist care ethics as developed by Joan C. Tronto, María Puig de la Bellacasa, Lara Perry, and Elke Krasny, as well as the reflections of Sascia Bailer, the workshop investigates how processes of institutional democratization can emerge through caring, connected forms of cooperation—through “caring with.” Participants will discuss existing museum organizational charts and, in small groups, develop ideas on how “caring with” can be structurally embedded within institutional frameworks.
