Ekaterina Polyakova
Ekaterina Polyakova wurde in Russland geboren und studierte Klavier in Jekaterinburg und Karlsruhe sowie historische Aufführungspraxis in Salzburg und Trossingen. Sie ist Preisträgerin internationaler Wettbewerbe und trat u. a. bei den Salzburger Festspielen und „Mozart al Fortepiano“ in Genua auf. Sie lehrt historische Aufführungspraxis an den Musikhochschulen Hamburg und Trossingen und war Erasmus-Dozentin in Frosinone, Italien. Ihr aktueller Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Wiener Hammerflügeln, zuletzt an Originalinstrumenten von Conrad Graf im Schloss Weißenbrunn, mit Fokus auf die Verbindung von Instrumentenbau, Klangästhetik und Spielpraxis.
Born in Russia, Ekaterina Polyakova studied piano in Yekaterinburg and Karlsruhe and historical performance practice in Salzburg and Trossingen. A prize-winner of international competitions, she has performed at the Salzburg Festival and “Mozart al Fortepiano” in Genoa. She teaches historical performance practice at the Universities of Music in Hamburg and Trossingen and has been an Erasmus lecturer in Frosinone, Italy. Her current research focuses on Viennese fortepianos, most recently on original Conrad Graf instruments at Schloss Weißenbrunn, examining the links between instrument making, sound aesthetics, and performance practice.
