Learning from Indonesia
In this session we will examine bottom-up or grassroots museum initiatives in Indonesia and the way in which working with local communities can result in more sustainable and more inclusive methods. We will look at the practical experiences and lessons that have been learned, using case studies relating to collecting, outreach, and the documentation of our cultural heritage, as well as co-curation. How can such approaches take effect long term? And how can bottom-up work as a principle in the museum work?
