Felix Krämer
Felix Krämer (*1971) ist seit 2017 Generaldirektor und künstlerischer Leiter des Kunstpalastes in Düsseldorf. Neben dem Museum gehört hierzu auch der Robert-Schumann-Saal, sowie seit Anfang 2020 das benachbarte Ausstellungshaus NRW-Forum für Fotografie, Pop und digitale Kultur. Mit seinem innovativen Programm zu wechselnden Themen von Sportwagen über Fotografie zu Malerei, Mode, Skulptur, Design und Glaskunst präsentiert der Kunstpalast Ausstellungen für ein breites Publikum und beherbergt eine mehr als 130.000 Objekte umfassende Sammlung.
Felix Krämer hat an der Universität Hamburg Kunstgeschichte, Klassische Archäologie und Volkskunde studiert und dort 2005 promoviert. Von 2004–2008 war er an der Hamburger Kunsthalle sowie an der Royal Academy of Arts, London, tätig. Von 2008–2017 verantwortete er als Sammlungsleiter die Kunst der Moderne im Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main. Krämer hat zudem umfangreiche Ausstellungen in London, Paris, Rom, Tokio und Melbourne kuratiert.
Felix Krämer (born 1971) has been General Director and Artistic Director of the Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf since 2017. In addition to the museum, this also includes the Robert Schumann Hall and, since early 2020, the neighboring exhibition space NRW-Forum for Photography, Pop and Digital Culture. With its innovative program on changing themes ranging from sports cars to photography, painting, fashion, sculpture, design, and glass art, the Kunstpalast presents exhibitions for a broad audience and houses a collection of more than 130,000 objects.
Felix Krämer studied art history, classical archaeology, and folklore at the University of Hamburg, where he received his doctorate in 2005. From 2004 to 2008, he worked at the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. From 2008 to 2017, he was head of collections responsible for modern art at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main. Krämer has also curated extensive exhibitions in London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, and Melbourne.
